History

Why Les Camuches?

In the Tournai dialect, a camuche means a little house, a refuge, a hiding place, a small shelter.

We wanted to turn it into a promise: the promise of a place where you feel at home the moment you step through the door. Apartments that are simple, beautiful and practical, where every detail counts.

Tournai's famous figures

Each of our holiday apartments in Tournai is named after a local figure who left their mark on their time and shaped the soul of the city: architects, aviators, industrialists, painters, photographers, war heroines. Their story awaits you in every apartment. Set right in the historic centre or a stone's throw from the station, they are close to restaurants, shops and main roads, making it easy to explore the city and its surroundings by bike or on foot.

Where to find us

Your stay, our signature

Upmarket comfort with the warmth of a home from home, whether for a romantic weekend in Tournai, a cultural city break, a business trip or a working-from-home getaway.

Officially recognised accommodation

Registered and certified

In Wallonia, tourist accommodation may only be let once it has been officially registered with Tourisme Wallonie, which requires, among other things, a fire safety certificate. Certification as ‘furnished tourist accommodation’ then formally recognises it and opens the door to official tourism promotion. This is no mere formality: it is your guarantee of accommodation that is compliant, safe and reliable. Each Camuche has its own number, shown on its page.

Les Camuches are tourist accommodation recognised by Tourisme Wallonie and listed by the official tourism bodies. Our apartments carry the Gîtes de Wallonie and Bienvenue Vélo labels, for stays by bike or on foot.

At La Banque, there is an underground car park a stone's throw from the Grand-Place. At La Fonderie and La Coopérative, near the station, on-street parking is free with a blue parking disc.

Can I come by train?
