Marcel Michiels

Bell founder · 1898–1962

Born in Tournai, Marcel Michiels belonged to the family of bell founders who kept alive in Tournai, until the 20th century, a tradition dating back to the 9th century. It was this family that supplied the 53 bells of the belfry carillon, which rings out over the Grand-Place. A name that echoes through La Fonderie.
